I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the LORD,
give yourselves no rest,
and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth. (Isaiah 62:6-7)
The world cries out for peace. Yet the Scriptures teach there will be no peace on earth until there is peace in Israel--and particularly in Jerusalem. We pray NOT for a false, man-made peace that will not last, but for the only peace that WILL last--that which is initiated by God Himself.
We are committed to praying into 3 primary focuses:
1. Prayer for the redemption of the Jewish people (Hosea 3:4-5; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Romans 11:23, 26). We must not forget that spiritual redemption for Israel (and the nations) precedes political redemption! We are committed to praying FIRST AND FOREMOST for reconciliation between the Jewish people and their Messiah.
2. Prayer for the worldwide body of believers to "arise and favor Zion" (Psalm 102:13; Romans 11:11; Ephesians 2:13 & 3:6). It is only when the Church comes into alignment with her spiritual heritage and embraces her calling to her "older brother" that she will come into her true destiny. We are committed to praying this destiny in.
3. Prayer for Israel's protection from, and vindication over, her enemies (Psalm 83:13-18; Micah 7:8-10; Zechariah 14:3-4). As Israel's enemies see God's sovereign hand of protection over her, many are coming--and will come--into a revelation of Yeshua as their Messiah.
Are you interested in becoming a "prayer disciple" with a heart to "give yourself no rest" until Jerusalem is established as a praise in all the earth? Then contact us! We will be glad to help you get started in this journey!
We are involved in coordination for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (the 1st Sunday of every October). Our goal is to raise awareness of the need for prayer for Israel and the Middle East among the many pastors and churches in the Middle Tennesse area.
You can get involved! If you would like to help us spread the word about DPPJ, contact us at favorofzion@bellsouth.net, and visit the international website (www.daytopray.com).
