Do you really want to carry God's heart for His chosen people? Do you really want intimacy with Him at the same time?
If yes, then I say: come to the Land. But be warned: you will truly never be the same. Your heart will, as the saying goes, become broken with the things that break His heart.

So you say you love Israel, huh? Let me ask you a question: Have you considered paying her a visit lately?
One of the most memorable moments from my most recent trip to Israel (in April) came on the day that the group I was with visited Jerusalem. A few of us had just gone to the Western Wall area, and on our way back one of them commented on how the Jewish people so desperately needed healing.

Luke chapters 1 and 2 is the most descriptive narrative in all the gospels of the event that is celebrated at this time of year--the birth of Jesus Christ. What is so often lost in all our re-tellings of the Nativity story is the fact that, while He is the savior of the world, He was born to a particular people in a particular land. That people, and that land, is Israel. And while He loves all people, He has a particular longing for his physical brethren.
